Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Some of the services of P.Th. are accessible, for security reasons or other restrictions, only from the University's internal network (e.g. library databases, electronic secretariat, etc.). By using VPN, the user of the telematics network of ΤΥ can access the resources of the internal network with the access rights he has when connecting from the ΤΥ building.
Instructions for all devices
Select the VPN solution recommended for your device below, read the instructions and create the connection.
In case of problem, you can try a second solution, and have them permanently installed on your device, but make sure not to activate them at the same time.
OpenVPN : Recommended for all Windows, Android and MacOS . IOS is not supported. Requires an external program to be installed on your computer.
L2TP : Recommended for MacOS and IOS (iPhone, iPad) and alternatively for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Android (up to 11).
PPTP : pptp is now an "old" protocol that many operating systems have stopped supporting due to security weaknesses. However, it is sufficient if it is used from secure connections such as home or to encrypted isotopes such as e-mail
In case of a crash or other connection problems, it pays to have more than one VPN method installed on your computer, and use them alternately. The two methods work independently and are absolutely equivalent. Just don't forget to log out before trying to connect with the other methods.
For troubleshooting see the FAQ .
The service is accessible to all users of P.Th. and is available automatically after the user's account is created, with no other action required.
